Here’s the situation…
We are now in our Rotary Year 2009-2010, and we have
focused on Rotary International’s charge to every Rotary Club to
embrace a WATER PROJECT. Why?
Because 6,000 people every day die from water borne diseases!
Most of these 6,000 are children under the age of five. So clean water supply, and
decent sanitation facilities and practices, will make a world of
difference for over 1 billion of the world’s people!

Depending on the size of the project, your club
could fund the entire project, or partner with another club or
organization. A project can be funded entirely at the local
level or leverage your funds through matching grants at the District
or International levels.
Your role...
There are many ways your club can join this effort.
-
On the
smallest level, find a way to contribute a modest sum of a few
hundred dollars by joining with another club that has a project
underway.
-
On a bigger
scale, review the information linked to this site and pick a
unique project for your club to develop.
-
Have a speaker visit your club soon and get the
action started
What can you do right now?
The opportunities are limitless and your local
Rotary Club interest and focus will probably be varied. Which
water project your club embraces is not as important that each
Rotary Club embraces one of them.
