(Metro Area) Colorado...
Denver, the capital of
Colorado, was established by a party of prospectors on November 22,

then a part. Today Denver has a population of 554,636 and covers an
area of 154.63 square miles. Located at an altitude of 5,280 feet,
Denver is known as the "Mile High City."
