Exemplary Membership Growth Story
Rotary Club of Denver Southeast

The Denver Southeast (DSE) Rotary Club this Rotary year launched the formation of a satellite club, known as DSE Evenings, which is aimed towards attracting young professionals in the south Denver area to Rotary. These young people share the same strong commitment to local and global service to others as do regular DSE members.

The initiative was championed by DSE’s President John Hughes when he began his term in July 2013.  As a result of several months of planning and preliminary meetings, twenty-four new members, reflecting a wide cross-section of professional positions, were formally inducted into the DSE Club on November 7, 2013.

Many of these new members are multi-generational Rotarians, so they were directly exposed to the goals of Rotary service as they grew up and participated in family Rotary functions and Rotary youth leadership programs.  Since inception, the DSE Evenings Club has added two additional members to the original 24 (and lost a couple of members as well due to out of state job opportunities), and its members remain committed to the ideal of Rotary.

They are working with Project Cure and the membership has integrated into the DSE Rotary Club by attending and becoming active participants in the many committees and service activities with which DSE is involved. In addition the DSE Club has added 8 new members this Rotary year.
